US Congress asks State Department and Pentagon to submit report on US arms embargo on Cyprus  CNA - Apostolis Zoupaniotis - USA/New York 18/08/2018 10:58  A provision regarding the US - Cyprus security relations and the US arms embargo against Cyprus, has been included in the $717 billion defence bill signed earlier this week by US President Trump. The same bill includes an amendment preventing sales to Turkey of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter jets. The bill foresees that not later than 180 days after the date of its enactment, the Secretary of Defence and the Secretary of State shall jointly submit to the appropriate congressional committees a report on the security relationship between the United States and the Republic of Cyprus.
