Russian troops advancing towards Kyiv in the north of Ukraine have been slowed down by attacks from Ukrainian forces and hampered by serious logistical problems.

Analysts say they have been more successful in the south of the country, rapidly gaining ground and advancing towards the key city of Odesa.
