An Exceptional Event Commemorating Greek Revolutionary Heroes On Board USS Constitution

 

ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΗ ΜΕΤΑΦΡΑΣΗ ΑΚΟΛΟΥΘΕΙ

Last Sunday, May 1, 2022, after the Boston Parade, an important event took place, probably more important than the parade itself. Under the auspices and at the expense of the Pontian Society Panagia Soumela Boston under the leadership of the prominent member of our community Mr. George Gialtouridis, the journal of Marine Private William Fleming who served in the US warship 1824 to 1828 was presented in the captain’s room of the historic frigate USS Constitution. On one page it refers to Constantinos Canaris’s visit to the ship on May 11, 1827 and on another page Theodoros Kolokotronis’s visit to the ship on June 1, 1827 (See Below).
