Lieutenant General Andrew P. Poppas was confirmed by the U.S. Senate for appointment to the rank of General and assigned Commanding General, United States Army Forces Command. Video screenshot

Greek-American Lieutenant General Andrew P. Poppas was confirmed by the U.S. Senate for appointment to the rank of General in late April.

He was assigned as Commanding General, United States Army Forces Command, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Poppas is currently serving as Director, Joint Staff, Washington, DC. In this role, he assists the Chairman in his role as advisor to the President and Secretary of Defense, coordinates and directs Joint Staff activities in support of the Chairman, and serves as the Staff Inspector General.
